Excerpt from Dry August

I gaze at the map,

watercolor, wrinkled

paper rainbow pastels

sprawling across his wood floor.

Pin thin black lines

scribbled, broken

some jagged.

Dry desert

up for grabs.

Everlasting

longitude and

latitude

The entire planet is

paying attention.

Excerpt from Dead Sea

Jews on the left, Jews on the right,

hats, no hats

prayer in Jerusalem or

party in Tel Aviv?

Salt crystals sun themselves on the water’s edge,

bunched-up like leftover snow.

Almost cut my hand on one

as I crawl out on all fours away from Jordan,

my blond hair weighed down by minerals.....

Excerpt from Jews at the Pool

he thinks of me,

and it’s true.

Sometimes I’m unsure

afraid to flaunt,

but in my purple string bikini

I’m making eye contact

with everyone,

to see if I’m still kosher meat....

July 22, 2010 The Beginning

Okay, here we go. We are picking up where we left off, a collaboration of our work together.
Jenny arrived today at Studio 12 with notebook, sketch book and Kombucha in hand. I, Margaret brought thoughts and ideas and delicious lunch.
In May,2010 we completed 4 poems and 4 digital images to submit to various venues. We are continuing our collaboration with words, images, drawing and performance.

The collaboration begins again....every seven days I will create an image through photography, drawing or painting and Jenny will respond with poetry or prose.

We will keep you posted on our process.
